Abbey of San Giovanni in venere
The abbey of San Giovanni in Venere is a real jewel of art and history, and its position make it even more priceless. The abbey stands on a hill, wich are situated a few meters from the coastline and the crystal clear sea that characterizes this area of the adriatic sea to the south of the region.
The hill on which the church was built at the beginning of the XII century up to 107 metres above sea level and an exceptional panorama. The reference to Venus derives from a tradition that identifies a pagan temple on the site of the present church

The interior of the church is very large and is characterized by 3 naves divided by large pillars in the square, ending in apses that offer excellent acoustics.
The exterior of the church is characterized by large green areas with a mediterranean vegetation.
