Trabocco
The Trabocco is a primary fishing machine typically used in the fishing tradition of Abruzzo. Its use dates back to ancient times, in fact since the eighteenth century the fishermen of the area had to invent a method of fishing that was not subject to the weather conditions of the area and therefore, would ensure a fruitful result of fishing even with adverse weather conditions. After a overflow, in fact, the fisherman was able to fish without having to enter the sea, using the morphology of some rocky fishing grounds along the coast.
They are made of pine wood, which is abundant flora of the coast of Abruzzo, which allows a long-term resistance against erosion caused by water saline.
